I SIMPLY ADORE THAT COUPLES ARE TAKING THE FREEDOM TO HOST A WEDDING THAT TRULY FEELS AUTHENTIC TO THEM IN EVERY WAY. GONE ARE THE DAYS OF BLINDLY FOLLOWING TRADITION, SOPHIE AND GAVIN WANTED A CELEBRATION THAT CONNECTED WITH THEIR CORE VALUES. SOMETHING ELEGANT YET QUIRKY, FAMILY & FRIEND-ORIENTED WITH GOBS OF PERSONAL TOUCHES THROUGHOUT. THEY DITCHED A FORMAL RECEPTION AND OPTED FOR TO HOST A MOODY, ELECTRIC DINNER PARTY AT A COCKTAIL BAR INSTEAD. THEY DITCHED A FORMAL CEREMONY IN CHOICE OF A LIVING ROOM CEREMONY CELEBRATION WITH JUST A HANDFUL OF THEIR FAMILY. THIS WEDDING WAS ONE FOR THE BOOKS AND INSPIRED ME TO TAKE RISKS & NOT TAKE LIFE SO SERIOUSLY.
Photography Insight: Sophie and Gavin had an intimate, living room reception with a larger dinner party afterwards at their favorite, local restaurant. Their photographer packages included 1 photographer, 6 hours of coverage, with film and polaroids.
“I actually met Alana through instagram, I had been following her for a while and entered & won a giveaway! At the time my husband and I were not even engaged yet but after the experience I knew she was going to be our wedding photographer!
So, later that year after we got engaged, I immediately inquired with Alana! We had a bit of an untraditional wedding and Alana was so flexible and down for anything which was so reassuring. She was super organized and thoughtful and her planning calls were so helpful.
Neither my husband or I are super comfortable in front of the camera and she helped us look natural. She also understood my vision perfectly and the photos came back better than I ever imagined. Alana is extremely talented at her craft but she is also a kind and intentional person who is a joy to be around! I would highly recommend her!
Ps. I also did a boudoir shoot with her which was super fun and empowering!!!”
